Strange Bedfellows

I could care less about the music of Eminem, but this powerful video, the most potent pop cultural salvo against W since Fahrenheit 9/11, has the potential to reach those MTV kids that could usually care less about politics. It's good to have all the voices we can on our side at this point...

RIP John Peel

Long time BBC DJ John Peel died of a heart attack while on vacation in Peru. For those who don't know him, Peel had a tremedous influence on cutting edge pop music of the last 40 years. From his early days in the psychedelic 60s, to the early days of punk and on to the present, Peel consistantly touted bands before they hit the big time. Many groups recorded sessions for Peel's show and ended up doing versions that topped their official studio output. A good example of this is The Pixies' Peel sessions which showcased oddball covers like "In Heaven" from the movie Eraserhead along with killer versions of their own tunes. He will be missed...
